In my independent reading book The Vosarak Code, Alex has clones that are in a special spy program in which clones do Alex's dirty work. the only drawback of this is the fact that she hardly gets any attention. This is the saddest part of the book and when she doesn't get attention it makes the reader feel bad for her.
The first reason you know Alex doesn't get attention is the fact that whenever Alex Prime (her clone) comes back from a spy mission, every one ignores Alex. "I stood over by the punch bowl in the corner while everyone cheered and applauded my clone." this quote shows that she doesn't get enough attention as a person in general. This shows how much the spy team really cares about her. "After all I am the on who could make this all work out." she says hoping they would see how she feels. They never notice her and she was right, if it weren't for Alex, nothing would have happened and the clones wouldnt exist.
Another piece of evidence that shows she doesnt get attention is the fact that the original Alex who was cloned, her name isn't even Alex prime, thats the clones name. The clone name is Alex prime because she is simply better than the original Alex. Alex even says in the book,"Why is she Alex prime, if im the first one?" Its easy to understand her sassyness because they dont treated her well. they treat her like a kid even though she is eighteen. They are also always watching her because they feel like she might mess up or do something wrong. Most of the time she doesn't even notice because the people are spys and hard to find because they pose as everyday people.
Finally, the last reason is that her coworkers dont pay attention to her so much, they dont even notice she is depressed. Shes in a dorm by herself and all her friends are going to school and such so they cannot hang out with her so she is lonely. this defintetly and ultimatley makes you feel bad for her because she is replaced by a clone who is better than her, she is watched by people becaus ethey think she will mess something up AND all her friends dont have time to hang out with her.
All in all, Alex is a girl who was cloned by a spy program in which she gets no attention. Her friends cant hang out with her because they all go to school. Her clone is seen as better than her so shes depressedc. This makes the reader feel bad for her and gives sadness to the book.

Young love
In Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet, there are many themes and one which includes young love. Shakespeare did a really good job at telling both sides of love. There's doubt confusion and mistakes... Along with happiness joy and sadness. I think that sums up young love well enough.
The first thing I want to talk about are the negative sides of young love. Confusion, sadness, and depression. Confusion could be when you dont know whether someone loves you or not. Sadness can be from unrequited love. Love when you love someone and they don't love you back. Depression cam simply be sadness but magnified. It is worse to know about unrequited love because the more you think about it, the more it hurts. Also mistakes. Alot of young people make mistakes, we all make mistakes and therefore mistakes can lead to bad things. All of those combined can be possibly the worst time of your life. And I think Shakespeare did a wonderful job at making it poetic.
On the other hand, the positive sides of young love can be hopeful, but from what I have read so far in Romeo and Juliet, there weren't too many positive thoughts or actions or feelings. It starts off angry with fighting. It starts off sad with unrequited love. I mean, I'm not surprised being that Romeo and juliet is a story of tragedy with 8 people dying in it. It isnt exactly what I would describe as happy.
But overall Romeo and Juliet is an amazing book so far. It is poetic and the humor is old but I can somewhat understand. Soon I would be able to read his work without being confused. It is sad right now but i hope that it won't be later.

Google glasses
Recently google has come up with a genius invention. They call them google glasses. They have made glasses that can help you around the city instead of pulling out your phone. It has Siri, weather, a gps, and everything you need during the day time. There are only a few drawbacks to this though. For example, driving around and disruption of vision in city streets. They are rather expensive and there for you are prone to get robbed.
One of the pros to having the google glasses is Siri. You can ask her where your friend is if he has an iphone which can be tracked to find their location. You can ask her for directions to the nearest coffee shop which leads Into the gps. The gps part of the glasses tell you which way to go according to where you are on your location services on the glasses. It also has weather. In the morning before you leave you can check the weather to know if you should dress warm or cold according to the temperature instead of going through the tv or phone. It also has a camera where you can take a picture with what you see.
The cons on this are not that bad and can get used to. The glasses only go over one eyes so therefore the peripheral view might be blocked slightly. And if someone happened to see your google glasses and decides he wants them you probably won't see him come and snatch them.
Overall, I think that there are more pros than cons with the google glasses. You are definetly getting what you pay for and if anything the cons can be adjusted. Or they can get used to.

Oracle Of Change
The latest book I'm reading is called "I Ching The Oracle of Change". I'm reply confused to what the book is about due to the really intense and mature language. I think it is really weird to how you cannot tell between metaphors or they are really talking about actual hexagons (ill get back to that later). But I think that overall in the end it's plot and moral Is how to change in life.
I think that it was confusing. The book uses strong language and is really long. It is translated from chinese to english which probably makes it extra long because one word in Chinese could mean two or three in English. I thought that that made the book mature and a little more than I can handle.
Something else that happened was that the book used metaphors a little much. Like for example, they used hexagons as life I think, and they said that in a hexagon there are triangles and squares which are made up of smaller triangles and squares, but they went on to speak about triangles and squares in a hexagon and hexagram I started to think that maybe they are actually talking about hexagons. I stopped reading because I had no idea to what was going on.
Overall i think I'm going to stop reading it until I'm like twenty because now I have no idea what's going on and everything in the book. When I get a more complex vocabulary I will read it and I will enjoy it more for what it is worth. There is a strong message in the book and I can somewhat tell.

Whats going on
Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today - Ya
Father, father
We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today
Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
Oh, what's going on
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Ah, what's going on
In the mean time
Right on, baby
Right on
Right on
Father, father, everybody thinks we're wrong
Oh, but who are they to judge us
Simply because our hair is long
Oh, you know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
Oh
Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me
So you can see
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Tell me what's going on
I'll tell you what's going on - Uh
Right on baby
Right on back
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother

You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today - Ya

In the song Whats going on by Marvin Gaye, he expresses two topics. He shows racism and segregation which is one topic and he shows war. In the first stanza he says, "We don't need to escalate You see, war is not the answer For only love can conquer hate You know we've got to find a way To bring some lovin' here today." i think he is saying that we still dont need to go to war, and we dont need to escalate the problems that have already been here. he is also saying to make love not war because love solves more problems. he also mentions people dying in war. i think that people in other countries dont deserve to die.
He also mentions the racism and segregation (its not as intense now like it was in the 60s). he says in the song, "picket lines and picket signs". usually this means that on the picket signs have phrases that say white only or colored people not allowed. the picket lines are there for seperating the blacks from the whites.
I think this song is good to show people now how it used to be and to show people now how it still is. I think that this song may be short and alot of the words are kind of meaningless but the words that mean something really pack a punch. i think this song is about racism which is a really strong topic and about war which is also a strong topic. we have never had war with another country in America, we only had war with ourselves and until we have war in America, we will never fully understand what war is like.
And even racism itself is a strong topic. Blacks were slaves at one point and when they gained their freedom they still weren't treated equally. just 4 decades ago were we seen as absolutely equal. there still is a lot of racism but more hidden then we can see. we can go to the same schools and alot of people are friends with people who arent the same skin color. so we are not seperated by picket fences or told to get away with picket signs but it is still more under lying.

The truth behind videogames (revised version)
The book Fun inc., by Tom Chatfield had many pros and cons to video games. The whole book fun inc. is about the misunderstood and unknown facts about video games. You can Learn things from the assassins creed series and bad video games can cause seizures and make you take on some bad personality traits.
The bad facts about video games are mind blowing. They have to put seizure warnings before a lot of the games because they tend to do that to to kids sometimes, especially if they sit too close to the television. They also put those there because if something like that were to happen they can't get sued because there was a warning for it. Another thing that can happen with usually violent videogames, is a child would find it so realistic to the point where they would feel the urge to do it in person. For example a child in Mississippi played a game where you go and shoot police in the sheriffs office and get points for it. The boy wanted to to try it in real life but after they tried to calm him down at the sheriffs office and after three fatally wounded cops they had to shoot him.
But there is good news too. It actually speeds up children's reaction times Dr.Fitzgerald from Yale college says. Kids who play videogames often have speedier reactions and ones who dont play have slower reaction times. Also some games have things that kids can learn from even though it is covered with violence. For example the Assassins Creed series is of course about an assassins journey but in every game you meet historical characters and go through time periods, for example the revolutionary war. You meet people like Machiavelli, leonardo davinci, Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Addams in all of the different games according to Ubisoft programmers. And the non violent games help kids expand their imagination.
I think that overall there are pros and cons to video games. That probably would make games neutral but yet give some leveling to some parents and might give them second thoughts, too. I for myself play video games and I think that I have might have gotten quicker withmy reaction times and I might have learn something from the video games I play.

The truth behind videogames
Recently I have continued reading the book fun inc.. The whole book fun inc. is about the misunderstood and unknown facts about videogames. I think that many people would see videogames in a different light if they read this book. Hopefully adults would see them better than they are. The book gives pros and cons to video games which I thought was interesting.
